But GC hung tough and managed multiple turnovers which proved to be the undoing of the Patriots. GC's running attack seemed unstoppable. I guess they were playing the law of averages ("if you run it enough, you'll eventually break one loose...") because there were rare, if any pass plays from the GC offense. Some very innovative and insightful playcalling from FD--I have to wonder if that's a testament to the addition of Collin Drafts (former CSU QB great). To be fair, CJ made some spectacular catches reminiscent of one AJ Green. To FD's credit, they played GC as close as anyone and the game was in question til the second half of the fourth quarter. I did do a few shots from the GC perspective, as I sent some pics to the Goose Creek Gazette.

HERE are the first few shots, more coming very soon. Unfortunately I have to go out of town for work. I'm really disappointed to miss this one! Could be a barn-burner, huh?

In an effort to make it up to you, I'm posting some shots from 2007 and the current freshman phenom for the University of South Carolina. The Way Back Machine (which is really my hard drive containing my archived photographs) takes us to the State Championship game between Summerville and Byrnes. Although it's gonna be a bit painful for Greenwave fans, we can all rest easy now that the Ol' Ball Coach has managed to keep this kid in-state for our benefit.

Unfortunately they are playing my beloved Furman Paladins tomorrow. GO YOU HAIRY STINKIN' 'DINS!

Anyway, enjoy these shots of Marcus, who looks like he's about to usher in a new era for Gamecock fans, and seems to be an all-around good kid.

FD v. Beaufort jumped out to a 14-0 lead before the Fort stormed back to claim the lead early in the second half. A lot of spectacular plays, including a triple reverse flea flicker--wow! Fort managed to pull it out in the end, though and moved to 3-0.

I understand there was another game in town...something about triple overtime. Sorry I missed that! Sounds like it was a barn-burner.

I've posted a few pics in the gallery to get things started--more later in the week. Keep checking in--I appreciate the traffic and any feedback! As always, I'll have the shots up in a few days available for purchase. I will post an update and a link here when they are uploaded and ready, but it will be toward the end of the week.

9/17/2010 Update: Pictures from last Friday's Beaufort at FD game have been posted. I will be posting them to the purchase site later this weekend. Unfortunately I won't be at the FD v. SHS game this weekend--have to go out of town for work--but I will have something special for you tomorrow. Play well fellas!

SHS v. In the end, despite turnovers at critical points, Summerville pulled it out--the Stags may have been a little gassed. Everything was pretty cordial, perhaps under the cloud of the tragedy that claimed Berkeley's DJ Weathers. Can't imagine what it must have been like for the Berkeley players to have to play a game so soon after his passing. The Greenwave rolls on; Berkeley is going to have a fine season.
